Okra Stew Base & Smoke
The 'hidden seeds' of the African diaspora's food tradition are the crops that crossed the Atlantic and took root: okra, black-eyed peas, rice, sesame. Okra above all is the hidden seed, ngombo in Bantu, which gave us the word gumbo. It thickened the pot, fed the communities that grew it, and built a culinary vocabulary that lives in every Southern kitchen. This blend leads with okra powder alongside the aromatics of a Lowcountry garden. Use it on soups, stews, and vegetable dishes that want depth and body.
Best for: gumbo, soups, stews, braises, greens, bean pots, rice dishes
